On Saturday, August 27th, the Arizona Humane Society is offering a special one-day-only adoption event at both our Nina Mason Pulliam South Mountain Campus and Scottsdale PetSmart locations! Thanks to an anonymous donor, adoption fees will be waived during the Telemundo and Hill’s Pet Nutrition Clear the Shelters adoption event, and we hope to find loving homes for all of our adoptable pets. Plus, adopters will receive some super cool swag courtesy of our friends at Hill’s Pet Nutrition. Please note: AHS will forego our appointment process for this day only and allow all customers to walk in. That’s right, walk-ins are welcome on Saturday! So put on your sneakers and stroll on in to find yourself a new walking buddy.
Things to know beforehand:
- Be prepared to wait in line, possibly outside. Bring plenty of water for yourself.
- Check pet requirements and location. If you have a specific pet in mind, please check their requirements, medical needs, and more beforehand. All adoptable pets can be found here and can be filtered by location. Please note that adoption locations may change early in the morning, and these pages are updated every hour.
- Leave your canine friends at home this time. Due to the summer heat, AHS is encouraging pet owners looking to add a dog to their family to consider leaving their resident dog(s) at home.

- Scottsdale PetSmart: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM
